    Download and install

    Download the beta and open it. Windows asks once because the publisher is still new: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

    Get to know each other

    Timers, lists, weather and open questions work right away. AVALON introduces itself and gets to know you in about five minutes. If you want to keep everything on your PC, download your own language model under “Settings” → “Offline”.

    Say or type “Avalon”. Under “My day” you can connect your calendar and inbox whenever you like.

Which smart home devices should I buy?

The easiest are devices with the Matter logo on the box, for example from IKEA, Eve, Aqara, Nanoleaf, Meross or Tapo. You connect them in AVALON with a single code, no account needed, and AVALON controls them directly on your home network. AVALON finds Philips Hue, Shelly, IKEA, Sonos, Govee, Nanoleaf and FRITZ!Box by itself. Devices from the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app without the Matter logo work too, but need a one-time setup of about ten minutes with a free Tuya account.

Is AVALON always listening?

AVALON responds when you say “Avalon”. You can switch listening off with one click at the top. Then AVALON hears nothing at all until you switch it back on or tap the microphone.

Where does my data go?

Memory, conversations, face and voice stay on your PC. With AVALON Start and your own language model, your question never leaves your PC. With Plus and Gold, it goes to the language model encrypted, with the context it needs, and everything is stored on your side. Under “Settings” you can see what AVALON knows at any time, download all of it as a file or delete it completely.

Do I need to be good with tech?

No. Setup walks you through step by step, and if something doesn’t work, AVALON tells you exactly which switch is missing and where to find it.

Does AVALON run on a Mac or a phone?

AVALON runs on Windows 10 and 11. Pair your phone with a QR code and AVALON comes along when you’re out and about. Timers, lists and reminders even work there when your PC is off. A Mac version is in the works.

What does the beta cost?

Nothing. Updates arrive on their own, and one click installs them.
